September 18th of this year marked the day when Jeremy Ausmus confronted Nick Schulman in a heads-up at the World Series of Poker Online event. By September 22nd, the two esteemed players found themselves in the final of the 2022 Poker Masters high roller series.
With luck vigorously on his side, Ausmus outlasted all rivals to come out triumphant in not one, but two events. Ausmus firstly gained his fifth WSOP bracelet, and then followed this win by securing his third PokerGO Tour event title. The 2022 Poker Masters win resulted in a significant payout for Ausmus as he collected an impressive $204,000 in prize money. This event attracted no less than 85 entries but at the close of the first day, Ausmus already held a considerable chip lead over the remaining seven players.
When notable players such as Erik Seidel and Anthony Hu were graciously eliminated from the competition, Shulman stood with fewer chips than Ausmus moving into a heads-up. The chip lead alternated between the two throughout the game as Schulman surpassed Ausmus following a substantial pot win. Yet, Ausmus pulled triumphantly back in front, going all in and putting Shulman to a decision for his whole stack to which Shulman called.
Following this, Shulman displayed the A3 off-suit and Ausmus revealed pocket sevens. The final blow for Shulman was struck when the dealer showed seven and two high cards on the flop. Schulman, a three-time bracelet winner and WPT champion, earned $144,500 for his second-place position this September. The impressive payout increased his career earnings to more than $14.5 million.
